Elizabeth Schipman, Psy.D.
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Elizabeth Schipman is a postdoctoral clinical psychology fellow and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and completed an accredited internship at Utah State University's Counseling and Psychological Services center.
Dr. Schipman specializes in comprehensive diagnostic and neuropsychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. She is passionate about arriving at accurate diagnoses and has a particular interest in working with individuals who might be living with ADHD. Dr. Schipman also specializes in providing individual therapy to adolescents and adults, utilizing an integrative approach that includes client-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing.
With over ten years of experience, Dr. Schipman has worked in diverse settings, including outpatient and residential programs, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, therapeutic day schools, and university counseling centers. Throughout her career, she has worked with a wide range of diverse populations, adapting her approach to meet the unique needs of individuals from various cultural, socioeconomic, and demographic backgrounds.
Dr. Schipman believes in empowering clients through empathic understanding, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. She combines this approach with psychoeducation and skill-building to help clients develop greater self-insight and facilitate personal growth.
In her free time, Dr. Schipman enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and engaging in various craft projects.
