Stephanie Beger, Clinical Intern

Stephanie believes that everyone deserves to have their stories told in a space that feels safe, comfortable, and inviting. No story is the same, so Stephanie practices empathy, compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s unique background.
Stephanie works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationships, among other concerns. She uses a client-centered approach that honors each person’s journey, strengths, and cultural background. To meet each client’s unique needs, Stephanie uses an integrative lens to draw on approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help each person develop skills to manage intense emotions, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help people rethink negative thought patterns that may be contributing to stress and anxiety. When working with children, Stephanie integrates a play therapy approach to help each child express their inner world and emotions through sensory play, storytelling, and artistically creative activities.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Aurora University, Stephanie is currently working towards her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Benedictine University. Having worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, Stephanie has had insightful experiences working with children struggling with emotional dysregulation and those who are neurodivergent. She is a strong believer that behavior is a form of communication.
Stephanie finds comfort in spending time with her family and friends, being out in nature, watching movies (the best place is at the movie theater), and trying out new restaurants.
