Matt Okigawa earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from Aurora University. He went on to obtain his Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University. Prior to pursuing social work, Matt spent 5 years working in law enforcement.

 

Matt’s experiences working in law enforcement have led him to find his passion for helping those in the first responder community. Matt desires to help others, with a particular passion for working with first responders, veterans, and their families. Matt also specializes in working with couples, helping them learn skills to build a strong and lasting relationship.  Matt has an honest, warm, and friendly approach, utilizing various clinical interventions to help meet his clients where they are at.  Matt is always working to create a safe space for his clients to help them on their journey.

 

In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and their dogs, and being outdoors. Matt is also active in practicing and coaching Judo.
