Kate is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), working in the field since 2012. With her years of working as a therapist, Kate has been able to work with many different clients with various presenting concerns. Having obtained her Masters degree in a marriage and family therapy program, practicing couples therapy remains a specialization for Kate. She has completed level 1 and level 2 trainings of the Gottman Method couples therapy model. In addition to applying this model frequently in working with clients, Kate also enjoys educating other clinicians on the Gottman model, whether in formal trainings or collaborative peer consultation. Kate also finds a passion and connection in working with adolescents, and specifically adolescent girls. *Kate has received positive feedback about her ability to work with these girls.* Running therapy groups and workshops for adolescent girls has been an area of interest for Kate as well.

Kate has a friendly, warm vibe and values creating a comfortable atmosphere, sometimes using humor when appropriate as well music, art, or play. The joining (or rapport building) stage of therapy is important to Kate, as she knows if her client is not comfortable then it will be difficult to have a successful therapeutic relationship. Kate pulls from various therapeutic models that will serve her clients best. Some models include CBT, structural family therapy, person-centered, choice theory, DBT, psychodynamic, Adlerian, Gottman, EFT.....
Kate obtained her masters degree in marriage and family therapy from Adler University. Prior, she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Elmhurst College, with a minor in Spanish.
